Quilt Show 2009
The theme of the 23rd annual Quilt Show is
"A Patchwork Garden".
There will be over 200 quilts on display for your enjoyment. In addition, the quilt show will feature an exhibit of art quilts and a special member challenge. This year’s member challenge is Floral Imagination and members are being challenged to produce a small quilt that celebrates their love of flowers and all things floral. Another special feature of the show is the bed turning of heirloom quilts and a presentation on the history of the quilts. A Country Store and the Vendor Mall will be available at the Quilt Show for your shopping pleasure.
We are please to announce that this year’s featured artist is Diane Andro. Diane was taught to quilt by her great-grandmother when she was a young girl and she has been quilting for over 50 years. She both pieces and appliques and does much of her work by hand. Diane’s entry in the 2008 quilt show was a beautiful hand appliqued and hand quilted bed-size quilt. This quilt was selected as a Best in Show winner in 2008 (see Diane’s winning quilt at the right of this text)
The Quilt Show hours are 10-5 daily. The show will be held in the Gym of the Sequim Middle School at 301 West Hendrickson. There will be a free shuttle bus between the Lavender Festival Street Fair or it is a short stroll from the Fair to the Quilt Show.
If you want more information about the show, please send an email to the Club (info@sunbonnetsuequiltclub.org).
