Sunbonnet Sue Quilt Club Show 2008
This year the Sunbonnet Sue Quilt Club of Sequim, Washington is pleased present its 22nd annual quilt show in conjunction with the Sequim Lavender Festival. The theme of this year's show is "Sequim Prairie Flowers. " The show is located near the Street Fair in the Sequim Middle School Gym. Quilt show times are 10 to 5 daily. There is a suggested $3.00 donation at the door.
At least 200 quilts will be on display at this year's show. All of the quilts are created by members of the Sunbonnet Sue Quilt Club and are being displayed in the club's show for the first time. The quilts on display present a broad spectrum of styles, techniques and talents of today's quilters. Each year the club selects a featured artist from among its members and displaysa special collection of her/his quilts.
A unique activity that occurs throughout the show is the "Quilt Turning". This is an hourly event that offers an educational presentation of 20+ heirloom quilts and their history. Local residents have donated all of the heirloom quilts although the quilts originate from many areas. Other activities at the show include demonstrations of quilting techniques, a club member quilt challenge (to be announced), the Country Store where handcrafted itemscan be purchased, and a merchant's mall. On Sunday afternoon, the winning ticket for the 2008 Raffle Quilt will be drawn.

Sharon Witt: 2007 Member of the Year
In March we were asked to vote for the member of the year who contributed “above and beyond” to the club in 2007. The result of the ballot count was reported at the April board meeting and announced at the April business meeting. Sharon Witt was acclaimed 2007 Member of the Year for her dedicated service to the community quilt project. Sharon was astonished and almost speechless. She says, “I couldn’t have done it without the support of all the club members who have worked hard to produce all the quilts donated in 2007.” Sharon Witt with President Judy Richey
